Person-Centred Care Across the Care Continuum: beyond words and mission statements!

This Masterclass will draw upon the expertise of the Dementia Training Studies Centres and the available research to highlight areas for improvement and provide strategies for action. It will be highly interactive and assume some knowledge and experience of working with people with dementia. Major issues confronting acute, residential and community care will be discussed, research based strategies for addressing or preventing them suggested and approaches to dealing with them demonstrated!

Topics included will be: people with dementia have no place in acute care; end of life decision making is euthanasia by another name; Letting people take risks is a recipe for litigation; old people and sex just don’t mix, and the RN facing extinction.
