Finding innovative approaches to deliver crucial infrastructure projects in NSW

Infrastructure is being billed as a way to assist in softening the impact of the Global Financial Crisis.

The NSW Government will issue $6.6 billion in bonds in 2010 alone to assist the funding of major infrastructure projects. Further to this the proposed $10 billion energy privatisation may also aid with the financing of crucial infrastructure projects planned in transport, energy, health and education.

The Rudd Government has agreed to guarantee $170 billion in state debt in order to ensure that crucial infrastructure projects struggling to find sufficient funding will not be jeopardised.

With Infrastructure Australia's soon to be released priority list on how the federal government's estimated $12.6 billion Building Australia Fund should be divided between the states, the NSW Infrastructure Summit is perfectly-timed to discuss the importance of accessing and securing sufficient infrastructure financing, as well other critical infrastructure issues and opportunities that lie ahead.
