Port of Hastings Development Authority (PoHDA) established 1 January 2012
Major roles are:
> To manage the operations of the existing port of Hastings, and
> To develop the plan to extend the port to accommodate international container trades over the next 10 -15 years
Continued growth expected in Victorian container trades
- the existing capacity of growing port infrastructure may not meet future needs
Government has tasked PoHDA with responsibility for developing new port capacity
Current work program:
> Technical assessment and designs for port infrastructure and linkages to the Victorian freight and logistics network, including road and rail connectivity
> Investigation of environment and planning issues in preparation for environmental impact assessment
> Preparation of business case
> Investigation of procurement options
