EXCLUSIVE Site Tour of Cowal Gold Mine | Thursday 23 August 2012

Located approximately 150km from Orange, The Cowal Gold Mine Site Tour will give delegates the opportunity to visit one of Australia’s largest gold-copper open pit mines.

The Cowal mine is located in Central New South Wales, Australia, approximately 32 kilometres north of West Wyalong and approximately 350 kilometres west of Sydney. Cowal is an open pit operation, mined by a fleet of dump trucks, excavators and ancillary equipment.

In 2011, Cowal produced 269,000 ounces of gold at total cash costs of $535 per ounce. Proven and probable mineral reserves as of December 31, 2011 was 2.2 million ounces of gold.

Delegates will be transported from the conference venue to the mine and then be taken on a tour around the mine and will be given the opportunity to ask questions. The site visit will be approximately two hours duration, after which the delegates will be transported back to the Ex-Services Leagues Club Orange.
