A big hurdle for many bulk exporters is the lack of access to, or prohibitive cost of, traditional export infrastructure, particularly shiploaders. With prices for iron ore and coal so high, companies are looking at innovative technologies to overcome infrastructure restraints.

In response to this issue, Innovative Bulk Material Export Solutions for Mining Conference will examine low cost shiploading, transhipment and port infrastructure for mineral assets with a special emphasis placed on case studies.

The outstanding speaker panel includes:

  • Andrew Thomson, Executive Director Port Operations, CITIC Pacific Mining
  • Mark Roberts, General Manager Townsville Operations, Xstrata Copper
  • Simon Parsons, General Manager, Cairn Hill Project, IMX Resources
  • Neville Conway, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Cape Alumina
  • Ben King, Project Manager, Fitzroy Terminal
  • Stephen Timmins, Project Development Manager, POAGS
  • Andrew Keith, Competency Leader - Mining Infrastructure, Aurecon
  • Ross Ballantyne, Sea Transport Corporation (STC)
  • Rahima Velagic, Research Analyst, Braemar Seascope
  • Dr John Parker, Managing Director, Lincoln Minerals

Just some of the topics that will be discussed include:

  • Transhipment
  • Barging
  • Use of containers
  • Rotary tipplers
  • Floating harbours
  • Floating cranes
  • Drive over mobile shiploaders
  • And many more...
