About the Course

Minerals sector managers are typically drawn from the ranks of technical specialists in mining organisations, the engineers, geologists and metallurgists trained primarily in their respective disciplines, but often with only limited formal management training.

This course has been specifically designed for new managers in the mining industry to address the challenges faced with adapting technical skill bases to a new range of priorities.

Participants will focus on developing the skills to enable them to manage and lead their organisations, and to motivate their people to meet and exceed the right corporate objectives.

Participants will take away a portfolio of practical, relevant and immediately usable models, techniques and approaches that will dramatically improve their performance as a manager – and drive higher performance levels for their companies.

A feature of this course is Allan's emphasis on real-world examples of the performance challenges and business dilemmas typically found in mining organisations, and how to overcome those challenges whilst engaging the workforce to strive for better performance outcomes.

Who Should Attend

This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of those with a specialist skill who are now making the transition to senior decision-making roles across the mining industry; roles that include responsibilities for developing and leading corporate agendas, managing the work of others and delivering superior company performance outcomes
