National Workers Compensation Summit 2011 attracted over 100 speakers, delegates and exhibitors combined, as they get involved in discussing the harmonisation of national workers compensation laws across the country, national reform and fraud in claims.

We had the opportunity to interview Paul Bailey, Ambassador for Spinal Chord Injuries Australia, who spoke at the 12th Annual National Workers Compensation Summit 2011. 1 –Can you run me through some of the emotional and financial costs involved with a spinal chord injury? 2 –What's the key to getting back your independence through rehabilitation, health management and community support? 3 -How is the project "Walk On" improving peoples' ability to rehabilitate and get back to work, improving their life as a whole? 4 - Can you explain a bit of the work you're doing for Spinal Chord Injuries Australia? 5- You presented at the Worker's Comp 2011 event. National Workers Compensation Summit 2010 attracted over 100 speakers, delegates and exhibitors combined, as they get involved in discussing the harmonisation of national workers compensation laws across the country, national reform and fraud in claims.

The conference brought about a good mixture of experience and knowledge: private enterprise from the employers' perspective, and national and international speakers' perspective. It also uncover interesting and new ways of looking at a problem.

Hundreds attended the 9th Annual National Workers Compensation Summit 2008 to discuss challenges and solutions for today's workers compensation. Highlights of the summit include Dr Greg Krohm, Dr Tim Sharp aka Dr Happy, Rob Guthrie, and Dr Cameron Mustard.

Professor Malcolm Sim, Director of the Monash University Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health (MonCOEH) spoke to us about known and unknown emerging occupational diseases and workplace illnesses and how this impacts on workers compensation going forward.

Laurene Hull, Exexutive Director of NT WorkSafe, spoke to us about the major barriers to harmonisation, how they will be overcome and how harmonisation will work across different industry sectors and different states.
